Privacy notice

Updated 1 November 2026. This notice describes the hosted Notheca Publishing service and reader, operated under the Mudos Digital name.

Information we process

When you sign in with Apple or Google, Notheca receives a provider identifier and, when supplied and verified, your email address or name. We do not receive your provider password. We use this information and session tokens to operate your account and protect access.

Publishing stores preferences such as language, country and interests, and account-linked reading activity including publication identifiers, text-position ranges, reading time and progress. If you save, like or review a work, the service stores your interaction and any review you submit. Reviews can appear publicly under the label “Reader”; ratings and likes can appear as aggregate counts. Written reviews are checked before publication. When you report a review or block a reader, we store your account reference, the report or block, and, for a report, a copy of the reported review so moderators can assess it. Your account may also contain Notheca library, notes, projects and uploaded material; the Notheca workspace notice describes that service.

The app stores its session in the device Keychain, keeps local reading positions and pending activity on the device, and sends activity to the service when a connection is available. The website uses session cookies for signed-in features. Network and security logs may include technical request information such as IP addresses and error information.

Payments and service providers

When subscription purchases are available, Apple processes the transaction; the service verifies Apple-signed transaction information and links entitlement information to your account. We do not receive your full payment card details. Apple and Google process sign-in, and Cloudflare carries public network requests under their own policies.

Storage and your choices

Account and activity data are kept on the service while the account is in use; recovery backups may retain copies. The hosted service is not end-to-end encrypted from its operator. Signing out ends a session; it does not delete your account or research. You can change reading interests and language in the app. For access, correction or removal questions, contact contact@mudosdigital.com.

A self-service account deletion process is not currently available. An account-deletion request affects the shared Notheca account and its associated workspace as well as Publishing data; contact support for help. Uninstalling the app or cancelling an Apple subscription does not itself delete the account.
